The City of Paris has just released the list of 100 “Pioneer” projects it has selected for the launch of its “.paris” domain name project. heSam Université is one of these pioneers, along with ENSCI-Les Ateliers, a HeSam member institution.
Paris is the first of the world’s capital cities creating its own internet domain name. ICANN, the domain management body, wants to promote this initiative as an example to other capital cities.
With its selection of 100 “Pioneers” from 300 applications received, the City of Paris is driving a new momentum for exemplary initiatives. From May to December 2014, the “.paris” domain extension will be exclusively reserved to the 100 Pioneers – a guarantee of outstanding visibility on the Web.
heSam Université, with its 15 member institutions in higher education and research, is intending to use the new domain name to strengthen its position on the international scene. Thanks to its activities in some 250 points across the globe, heSam Université is active in Europe, Asia, North Africa and Latin America, in particular through the EFEO (French School of Far Eastern Studies), ESCP-Europe, CNAM (Conservatoire national des arts et métiers) and the University of Paris I-Pantheon-Sorbonne.
heSam Université is one of the 100 Pioneers selected in the education and higher education sector, along with ENSCI-Les Ateliers, the Higher National School of Industrial Design, the International University Campus in Paris, the Estienne School and the ESP School of Advertising.
The English version of the hesam.eu website will switch to hesam.paris in the first half of 2014.
